Dr Louise van Rhyn, the founder and CEO of Partners for Possibility, was recently honoured with the Toastmasters Communication and Leadership Award for 2015 for her exceptional communications and leadership skills.
The Toastmasters 2000 club is one of the longest-standing Toastmasters clubs in South Africa and is based in Pretoria. Its chairman is Dr James Ramakau, Talent Planning Manager at Exxaro Resources and a PfP Partner.
In making the award to Louise, the Toastmasters club recognised her tireless work in promoting the challenges facing the education sector and in growing the Partners for Possibility network throughout South Africa. When the award was made, Partners for Possibility was already active in 314 schools across South Africa.
“In similar fashion to Toastmasters, Partners for Possibilities unlocks the leadership potential of the business leaders and school principals that participate in the programme. Toastmasters started in 1926 as a small organisation and soon spread across the world and I see the same possibility for PfP. PfP creates the opportunity for people like myself to help transform education and make the world a better place,” says Ramakau
